Apple may be set to fade out one of its old app names. The firm has pulled the iWork page from its US site. If you now visit the old link, it sends you to a broad “Apple Apps” page.
That new page shows apps like Creator Studio and Apple Arcade. It also lists tools for work, but one name is gone. The word “iWork” does not show up at all. For a brand that has lived for over 20 years, that is a big shift.
From iWork to Apple Apps
In the past, the iWork page was the home for three key apps: Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. These apps cover text, sheets, and slide shows. They were once sold as one set under the iWork name.
Now, on the new Apple Apps page, you can still find these tools in the work zone. But Apple no longer uses “iWork” to group them. The brand name is just not there.

This move hints that Apple may drop the name for good. Still, the firm has not said so in clear words. The term iWork can still be found in some help files and guides. So for now, it is not fully gone.
A Brand With Deep Roots
The story of iWork goes back to 2003, when Keynote first came out. In 2004, Pages was added. In 2005, Apple sold them as one pack called iWork ’05.
Later, in 2007, Numbers joined the set. Over time, Apple sold each app on its own. In 2013, with the launch of OS X Mavericks, Apple made the suite free for Mac users.
The iWork name stood for a clean, simple work set for Mac and iOS users. For many fans, it marked a key part of Apple’s app line.

The Slow Fade of the “i” Name
Apple has been moving away from the “i” tag for years. iBooks became Apple Books. iPhoto was cut, and its parts were moved into Photos. iTunes was split into new apps. Yet some names still keep the “i” like iPhone and iPad.
Will iWork be next to go for good? Apple has not made it clear. But with the page gone and the name off the main site, it feels like the end of an era may be near.
