Galaxy S26 Delay Pushes Samsung to Launch a-Series Early in 2026

Your usual Samsung launch calendar is about to look very different early next year. Samsung normally launches its flagship Galaxy S-series phones in January or February. Then, the popular mid-range A-series phones usually follow in March or April.

But this time, the whole schedule is messed up. Why? Because of internal changes to the top-tier Galaxy S26 lineup.

Galaxy S26

5 Key Points:

  • Samsung’s flagshipGalaxy S26launch is rumored to be delayed untillate February 2026due to a late decision to bring back the S26 Plus model.
  • To maintain market momentum, Samsung is accelerating its mid-range launch cycle, with theGalaxy A37andGalaxy A57expected inFebruary 2026.
  • The ultra-budgetGalaxy A07 5Gis also moving forward, possibly launching as early as late December 2025 or January 2026.
  • Both the A37 and A57 will ship with the latestAndroid 16software right out of the box.
  • The Galaxy A57 will use the newExynos 1680processor (with Xclipse 550 GPU), while the A37 will feature theExynos 1480(with Xclipse 530 GPU).

The Flagship Flip-Flop

Here is the story: Samsung was planning to introduce an S26 Edge model to replace the S26 Plus. But, the earlier S25 Edge model did not sell very well. So, Samsung reportedly dropped the S26 Edge idea completely. They brought the S26 Plus back into the lineup.

This whole last-minute change—this “pivot”—pushed back the development and testing time. That’s why the entire Galaxy S26 series is now rumored to land in late February. That is much later than the usual early-year launch window we are used to.

Filling the Gap with Mid-Range Phones

The S26 series may be late, but Samsung is not leaving the market empty. They are filling the gap by moving their budget and mid-range launches forward. This is a very smart way to keep new phones flowing into stores.

Galaxy A07, A37 and A57 all coming early next year.

A new leak says the affordable Galaxy A07 5G could launch very soon: either later this month or in early January 2026. This is earlier than the basic A0-series usually appears.

Even more interesting, Samsung is also planning to launch the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 ahead of their normal schedule. These two phones usually appear around March or April. This time, however, they are expected as early as February 2026. This move shows Samsung is trying hard to keep its product momentum strong while the flagship S-series waits for its final launch date.

New Power for the Mid-Range

The Galaxy A37 and A57 will come with the usual small improvements. They will have new chipsets and the latest software. Both phones are expected to ship with Android 16 right out of the box.

The faster Galaxy A57 is said to be running on Samsung’s new Exynos 1680 processor. This chip will be paired with the Xclipse 550 GPU. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A37 will feature the Exynos 1480 chipset, along with the slightly less powerful Xclipse 530 GPU. These new chips should bring better performance and efficiency to the mid-range.
