Google’s making it way easier to figure out if an app is any good. They’re starting to roll out some cool AI tools in the Play Store to help you read app reviews faster.
Instead of having to scroll through a mountain of user comments, you can now see a short, simple summary written by AI. This change is slowly making its way to people who have Play Store version 48.5.23-31 installed.

See What People Really Think
When you tap on an app, you’ll now spot a fresh section called “User Opinions.” It sits right under the usual “Ratings and Reviews” area. Below that, there’s a quick paragraph that basically tells you the general vibe about the app.
Google’s AI is the brain behind this summary, and it makes sure to point out both the good things and the bad things people are saying.
Using Google Docs as an example, the AI summary notes that most users find it simple to use and prefer all its customization options. But there are also mentions of little glitches by a few users. Overall, this shows that there’s a balance of things.
Dive Deeper with Handy Tags
Right beneath that summary, you’ll also see little clickable words, or “chips,” as they call them. These are like quick links to specific topics.
Say you’re only worried about how the app handles your files; you can click a tag like “File Management” to see only reviews about that. Other tags might include “User Interface” or “App Stability.” This lets you focus on what matters most to you.
Everyone’s Doing It Now
Using AI to shrink down long reviews is becoming the standard across all the big digital platforms. It saves everyone time and helps you decide on the spot. Apple added a similar AI summary feature to its iOS App Store earlier this year.
And Amazon has been doing the same thing for a while with its product reviews. By adding this new feature, Google is catching up and making the Play Store experience much smoother.
