The iPhone 17 Pro series launched in September with a regular Silver color and two notable variants dubbed Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue. The Cosmic Orange was a major departure from the sober design seen in the past releases. The Deep Blue was also different, but not as screaming as the Orange color option. Some users liked it, while others didn’t like the new colorful expansion. Anyway, this new option isn’t going anywhere. According to new leaks, the upcoming iPhone 18 series will add more colorful tones.
iPhone 18 Series Gets New Color Options
Today, a new leak popped out in China revealing the purported color options in which the iPhone 18 Pro will be offered in September 2026. They are Coffee, Purple, and Burgundy. They are portrayed in the speculative image below. The iPhone 18 series is still several months away from release, so take these colors with a pinch of salt.
It may be a matter of taste, but I can’t say these color options look bad. The Purple is the screaming color, but certainly will find its audience. The Coffe and Burgundy are sober tones, which, honestly, I can imagine them as part of the iPhone family. Interestingly, if these color options are accurate, it means that Apple isn’t changing its course with the next year’s iPhones. We still don’t see a conventional Black or White option in these models. It’s a new strategy adopted by Apple, and it isn’t going anywhere in the near future.
Some versions of purple already appeared in older iPhones. The iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Pro had some sort of purple color. However, when it comes to the Coffee and Burgundy, it’s totally new for the lineup.
There is still a long road ahead for the iPhone 18 series. These devices are expected only for September next year, and shouldn’t bring major design departures over the iPhone 17 series. The new colors could be a major novelty, while the 2027’s iPhone 20 series should add drastic changes.
