Redmi K90 Series: Xiaomi’s Latest Power Duo Is Finally Here

Xiaomi has made it official — the Redmi K90 lineup is out in China. Two models this time: the regular K90 and the more powerful K90 Pro Max. Both look sharp, sound great, and promise a lot for their price. Redmi has always aimed at that “flagship feel without the flagship bill,” and this release really leans into it.

REDMI-K90-1-1

K90 — Balanced and Solid

Let’s start with the base model. The Redmi K90 runs on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, which handles gaming and multitasking without breaking a sweat. There’s also a huge 7100 mAh battery that supports 100 W fast charging — which is nuts for this price range. Reverse charging is included too, so you can top up your earbuds on the go.

The display measures 6.59 inches, with a bright Super Pixel RGB panel that supports Xiaomi’s Eye Protection 3.0 tech. It’s easy on the eyes, even after long use. The fingerprint reader works with wet fingers too — small detail, but useful in real life.

Cameras? Three of them: a 50 MP main, 50 MP telephoto, and 8 MP ultra-wide. Photos look sharp and colorful. The sound is tuned by Bose, which gives it a nice full tone when you’re watching videos or gaming. Add IP68 dust and water protection, NFC, and infrared control, and you’ve got a well-rounded phone that doesn’t feel “midrange.”

K90 Pro Max — Full Flagship Mode

The K90 Pro Max is where Xiaomi turns it up – and we wrote about it last night. It’s still powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but adds a D2 graphics chip for smoother visuals and better AI effects. The 7560 mAh battery supports 100 W wired and 50 W wireless charging, so battery anxiety won’t be a thing.

REDMI-K90-6-1

It has a 6.9-inch OLED display running at 120 Hz, with deeper colors and brightness that rivals pricier phones. Xiaomi’s Qingshan Eye Protection 3.0 and DC dimming keep the viewing comfortable.

REDMI-K90-7-1

The main event, though, is the camera setup — three 50 MP sensors, including the first 5× periscope zoom on a Redmi phone. It’s sharp, fast, and stabilized with OIS, so it handles close-ups and distance shots really well.

REDMI-K90-Pro-Max-1-1

Audio is handled by Bose again, this time in a 2.1 stereo system with a built-in subwoofer. The phone also features IP68 + IP69 water resistance, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and comes in Golden White, Black, or Denim Blue with a soft-touch finish.

Champion Edition — A Touch of Lamborghini

There’s also a special Champion Edition, made in partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. It’s the most expensive version (around ¥5,499, or roughly $755), but it looks wild — metal accents, laser-etched design, and that racing vibe. Under the hood, it’s the same as the K90 Pro Max, but with a more advanced cooling system using a 3D ice-sealed circulation pump.

Global Version — Meet the POCO F8 Line

For the global market, Xiaomi plans to launch these phones as the POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra. The specs should stay almost the same, just tuned for international networks. The launch is expected sometime in early 2026.

If Xiaomi keeps the aggressive pricing, the POCO F8 lineup could become a serious contender against much more expensive phones.

Final Thoughts

The Redmi K90 series might be one of Xiaomi’s strongest mid-to-flagship crossovers yet. The K90 Pro Max, especially, feels like a proper powerhouse. If the POCO F8 Ultra launches globally at a fair price, it’s going to give a lot of expensive flagships something to worry about.
