€50 Million EIB Loan For Recurrent Energy; A2A & Enfinity Global sign deal for 134 MW in Italy; Orange Polska contracts GreenYellow to solarize Polish datacenter.
560 MW under construction in Greece: Lightsource bp’s 560 MW Enipeas Solar Project is now under construction in Greece. Touted as among the largest solar sites in Europe, it is being constructed by Ameresco Sunel Energy SA, a joint venture between the US’ cleantech company Ameresco and solar PV EPC Sunel Group. Divided into 2 clusters of 400 MW Skopia and 160 MW Kalithea, the entire project will use close to 970,000 PV modules. On completion, it will generate 0.90 TWh of electricity annually. The Enipeas project in Larissa and Fthiotida regions is co-funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU fund. In April 2024, it secured €315.34 million for the project from Eurobank and the Greek Public State (xem Tin tức về PV năng lượng mặt trời Châu Âu).
EIB loan for Recurrent Energy: A subsidiary of Canadian Solar, Recurrent Energy has achieved financial close on a €50 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for its solar energy portfolio in Italy. The loan with a 5-year term facility will support the development and construction of the portfolio whose capacity it did not disclose. Recurrent CEO Ismael Guerrero called it a pivotal step toward the company’s goal of becoming one of the largest independent power producers (IPPs) globally.
PPA for 134 MW in Italy: Italian utility A2A Spa and renewable energy player Enfinity Global have signed a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA) in Italy for solar energy. Enfinity will supply solar energy from 6 of its solar power plants in the Lazio and Emilia Romagna regions, representing a combined 134 MW capacity. This PPA is in addition to 97 MW the duo contracted in October 2023.
Warsaw Data Hub to go solar: Polish telecommunications company Orange Polska has contracted GreenYellow under a 20-year deal to solarize its Warsaw Data Hub. Calling it one of the largest data centers in Poland, GreenYellow said it will install a 299 kW rooftop solar power plant for the building. It will generate 250 MWh annually, totaling 5,000 MWh over the contract period. Orange Polska will benefit from local, competitive green energy, using it entirely for self-consumption. The project will be based on the innovative photovoltaic-as-a-service (PVaaS) model.
