In the run-up to Prime Day, consumers flock to Amazon, purchasing a myriad of products as the e-commerce giant unveils pre-sale deals ahead of the main event.

The yearly Prime Day sale by Amazon commenced on July 11, but shoppers had already begun taking advantage of the pre-sale deals. Digital Commerce 360, in collaboration with web traffic analytics company Similarweb Ltd., revealed the most popular Amazon purchases for the week from June 26 to July 2.
Crocs claimed the crown
Crocs Unisex-Adult Classic Clogs were the pre-sale’s star product, as reported by Similarweb. These divisive shoes were the top-selling item on Amazon for six out of the seven days tracked. Amazon also highlighted that the shoes were the best seller in its Clothing, Shoes & Jewelry category for that period.
The only product that surpassed Crocs was Finding Cinderella, a novella, for one day, as per Similarweb.
Electronics offers garnered attention
Amazon, as expected, heavily advertised its own devices, including Kindles, Fire streaming devices, and Ring security products.
Amazon has a dedicated category for its devices, and the Kindle Paperwhite e-reader was the most popular product each day. Besides being a marketplace, Amazon also holds the top position in the Top 1000.
Electronics constituted more than half of the top 10 selling products each day, as found by Similarweb. Apple products, especially different models of AirPods, dominated this category. AirTags, 9th generation iPad, and the Apple Watch Series 8 also featured on the best sellers list.
Amazon reported that Apple AirPods were among the top sellers in the early access sales in 2022.
Consumers purchased appliances to combat the summer
Appliances have consistently been a mainstay of Amazon Prime Day over the years. This year, a countertop ice maker by Euhomy was the best-selling appliance throughout the seven-day period, as per Similarweb.
Seven other ice maker models also featured on the bestseller list during the same period. A mini-fridge and compact washing machines were the other top sellers in the appliance category, as found by Similarweb.
