415 MW project online in Texas: Intersect Power has commissioned its 415 MW DC/320 MW AC Radian Solar Project in Brown County Texas, which is a part of the company’s near-term portfolio of 2.2 GW solar and 1.4 GWh co-located storage. It aims to realize entire portfolio by 2023-end. The Radian project is equipped with First Solar panels. It created more than 500 construction jobs over the 3-year construction cycle, it added.

AES acquires 2 GW project: The AES Corporation has acquired from Avantus what’s touted to be the largest permitted solar project with integrated storage in the US having 1 GW solar and up to 1 GW energy storage capacity. The Kern County, California located Bellefield Solar & Storage Project will be realized in 2 phases with a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with an unidentified corporate customer under phase I. Previously known as 8minute, Avantus claims to have 42 GW solar and 78 GWh of energy storage capacity in its pipeline in the US.

270 MW AC project cleared in Alberta: Sunnynook Solar Energy, a subsidiary of Westbridge Renewable Energy Corporation, has secured official approval for the solar power plant with up to 270 MW AC and 200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Alberta, Canada. This becomes the 2nd out of 5 Westbridge projects to have secured approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), stated the company.

New RE entity in US: Real estate investment and development firm Crow Holdings in the US has ventured into renewables with a new company called Crow Holdings Renewables to develop community and utility scale solar and battery storage projects in the country. It will initially focus on the entitlement and development of community solar projects averaging 5 MW and mid-sized, utility-scale facilities averaging 25 MW. It is currently pursuing suitable project locations in California, New Jersey, Maryland, and Illinois. The management cites the opportunities in solar segment through federal and state support and declining costs to take the plunge.
