Embargo

An embargo in logistics and trade is a measure, often enacted by governments, international bodies or carriers, that limits or prohibits the movement and exchange of goods, services, or currency to certain destinations or via specific routes. Embargoes serve various purposes, including reacting to political events, ensuring security, or exerting economic pressure.

While some embargoes are broad and encompass all trade, others are selective, targeting particular sectors such as defense weaponry or petroleum resources. These restrictions, arising from diverse factors such as diplomatic relations, economic conditions, or technical considerations, aim to exert an impact on the policies or behaviors of the specific region or entity involved.
