Samsung has just shared its financial results for the third quarter of 2025. During the presentation, the company revealed key details about the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. As per Daniel Araujo, VP of Samsung’s Mobile Experience Division (MX), the next generation of Galaxy flagships will “revolutionize the user experience with user-centric AI, a second-generation custom chipset, and stronger performance, including new camera sensors”.
This marks the beginning of a major shift for Samsung’s smartphone strategy. The brand is clearly putting artificial intelligence at the center of its future devices, from photography to performance optimization.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Coming With Custom Chip Power
Samsung mentioned a new second-generation custom chip, called an AP, which means Application Processor. They didn’t say its name yet, but it’s most likely the Exynos 2600. This will be Samsung’s first phone chip made with 2nm technology, which should make it faster and more power-efficient.

Reports say Samsung might use two versions of chips for the Galaxy S26 — the Exynos 2600 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Which one you get will depend on where you live. This plan isn’t new; Samsung has done the same in past Galaxy S models.
The Snapdragon chips marked “for Galaxy” are special versions made directly by Samsung Foundry. That gives the company more control to fine-tune performance and power use. In the past, this mix of chips didn’t always please everyone, but it looks like Samsung is trying to do things better this time with its new chip division.

What to Expect in 2026
The Galaxy S26 series could bring a redesigned camera system with new sensors, faster AI-driven image processing, and more intelligent power management. Samsung also hinted at introducing its own connectivity chip. It will replace Qualcomm’s FastConnect module, currently used in the Galaxy S25 lineup.
Beyond phones, Samsung plans to expand its AI ecosystem. Expect smarter health tracking on the next Galaxy Watch, upgraded Galaxy Buds, and new foldables, aiming to strengthen Samsung’s dominance in the premium market.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected for late Q1 2026. The devices were planned for early next year, but some recent leaks suggest that Samsung had to reconsider.
