Charge Your Phone in Two Seconds? This Box Is a Phone Charging Station | CES 2025

Since the advent of mobile phones, battery life has always been a headache. To alleviate the anxiety of low battery, people have come up with various solutions.

During the Nokia era, as most phones had replaceable batteries, frequent users typically carried multiple spare batteries and used universal chargers to keep them charged, which provided a sense of security. With the advent of integrated smartphone designs, replaceable batteries gradually disappeared to achieve waterproof and dustproof features, making power banks an essential accessory for everyone.

Everyone must have used this thing, right?

Now, there is a new solution for batteries.

At CES 2025, Irish startup Swippitt introduced a system called the Instant Power System (IPS), designed to solve the problem of insufficient phone battery life.

This system consists of three parts: a phone case called Swippitt Link, a toaster-like box called Swippitt Hub, and an app for checking battery information called Swippitt App.

Swippitt Link is an ergonomically designed phone case with a smooth texture and rounded edges. It features a large camera opening at the top, surrounded by a white trim that adds a visual layer.

The lower half of the case is thicker, with a noticeable groove design visible from the side. Swippitt has equipped it with a 3500 mAh battery, and it uses Bluetooth technology to transmit battery usage information.

Paired with the Swippitt Link is the Swippitt Hub, which resembles a toaster and is about the size of a tissue box.

The box is designed with a smooth white material and rounded corners. It features a subtle brand logo on the front and a recessed opening at the top center, with a slot for inserting the phone. The slot is marked with the “swippitt” logo.

Inside the Swippitt Hub are 5 batteries that match the groove on the Swippitt Link, each with a capacity of 3500 mAh.

When a phone with the Swippitt Link case is inserted into the Hub, the internal mechanism starts working. It ejects the depleted battery from the groove on the back of the Swippitt Link case and replaces it with a fully charged one. The ejected battery remains in the Hub to recharge.

According to the demonstration video, this system takes about 4 seconds to complete a battery replacement.

Does it look familiar? It’s like a “battery swap station” for your phone.

The final part of the ISP system is the Swippitt App.

Since neither the Swippitt Hub nor the Swippitt Link has a display, and battery life is one of the users’ top concerns, all information interaction functions of the system are integrated into the App. Through the Swippitt App, users can check the battery health and charging progress in real-time and receive timely battery replacement notifications, ensuring more convenient and efficient device usage.

The Swippitt Hub comes in black and white to suit different environments. The Swippitt Link phone case, compatible with iPhone 14, 15, and 16, is available in six colors. The company promises to offer Swippitt Link phone cases for the Samsung Galaxy S series by the end of 2025.

The Swippitt App, which complements the entire IPS system, is now available on the App Store and Google Play.

Notably, if you want to use the IPS system with your family, you only need to purchase one Swippitt Hub. Other users can use the battery replacement feature as long as they have a Swippitt Link phone case.

However, it is important to note that this system is not cheap. According to the official website, the Swippitt Hub is priced at $450, and the Swippitt Link phone case with a battery costs $120. Therefore, to use this system, you need to spend at least $570.

Currently, Swippitt is offering pre-orders, including a 30% discount for orders placed in January and a special $100 discount for the CES 2025 conference. The product will be officially shipped in June 2025.
