Ripple energy acquiring 42 MW solar plant in UK: Renewable energy projects developer Ripple Energy in the UK will acquire a 42 MW solar farm in Britain from RES saying it will be the country’s 1st shared solar park. To be built at Derril Water in Devon, it will be available for the common public to partly own the project on a shared solar model. It will enable the investors to source green energy for their homes and reduce their energy bills while bringing down carbon footprint. Ripple said almost 20,000 people have already reserved a place in the project which is the company’s 3rd such offering after having energized 2 consumer-owned wind farms in Wales and Scotland. Derril Water Solar Park will ensure sheep grazing to continue on over 96% of the site during operation.
OX2 acquires 475 MW PV in Finland: Swedish renewable energy company OX2 has acquired the project rights for a 475 MW solar power plant in Finland’s Huittinen from local solar developer SAJM Holding Oy. The company plans to submit the project for environmental impact assessment and necessary permits in 2023. Once online, it is expected to generate about 475 GWh annually.
Greenvolt wins in German auction: Portugal based Greenvolt has announced winning 100 MW large scale solar capacity through its local German subsidiary MaxSolar in Germany’s 1st large scale PV auction of the year. Greenvolt said the subsidiary was able to win all the licenses it sought. Germany’s Bundesnetzagentur recently announced the results of the auction that offered 1.95 GW to bidders.
