Nubia has a busy month lined up in China. The company is set to launch the Red Magic 11 Pro and 11 Pro+ on October 17, both running Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Alongside them, a new flagship is on the way—the Nubia Z80 Ultra, which is expected later this month.
The phone hasn’t been officially announced, but records have already given it away. A device with the model number NX741J turned up on Geekbench and also on China’s 3C certification site. Both point to the Z80 Ultra.
Geekbench shows the phone tested with 16GB RAM and Android 16. It posted a single-core score of 3,669 and multi-core of 11,309. Not the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 handset we’ve seen, but the numbers confirm it’s a proper flagship.
On the charging side, 3C reveals support for a 94.5W charger, though most reports say the device itself will cap out at 90W wired charging. With a rumored 7,100mAh battery, that balance of capacity and speed could prove important for heavy users.
Design leaks suggest a full-screen display with an under-display selfie camera, so no punch-holes or notches. On the back, expectations are for a 50MP main camera with a 35mm lens, a wide-angle option with a 1/1.55-inch sensor, and a periscope telephoto for zoom.
While the Red Magic line sticks to gamers, the Z80 Ultra seems aimed at a wider audience. The big battery, versatile cameras, and clean display could make it a strong all-round flagship.
With certifications filed, the phone’s official reveal shouldn’t be far off. Nubia looks ready to close the month with one of its most ambitious devices yet.
