Xiaomi’s upcoming 16 Pro may bring a big change to its design. According to reliable leakster Smart Pikachu, the new flagship will no longer use the quad-curved display seen on the 15 Pro. Instead, Xiaomi is expected to go back to a flat screen, a choice that many users may welcome.

The screen itself will be larger. Reports say the 16 Pro will feature a 6.8-inch panel, slightly bigger than the 6.73-inch display on the 15 Pro. Some sources even claim it could stretch to 6.85 inches. Since flat panels can make bezels look thicker, Xiaomi is said to be working on slimmer bezels to keep the phone’s design sharp and modern.
Xiaomi 16 Pro display could ”blow our minds?”
Beyond the shape, the display will also focus on eye comfort. Xiaomi is reportedly adding new protection tech that works even at high brightness. While details are not yet clear, this could help reduce eye strain during long sessions.
Both the 16 Pro and 16 Ultra are rumored to share the same 6.85-inch LTPO OLED panel with “2K+” resolution. Powering them will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, ensuring top-tier performance. Camera upgrades are also expected, with some insiders hinting that Xiaomi aims to beat the iPhone in certain areas.
Selfie lovers may notice one of the biggest upgrades. The 16 Pro’s front camera could jump to a 50MP sensor with autofocus, an ultra-wide lens, and 4K 60fps video recording. This would be a clear step up from the 32MP cameras of the 15 series, which lacked autofocus.
There are also rumors of a smaller model called the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini. This version may use the same Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor, feature a 6.3-inch display, and pack a 6,300mAh battery — even larger than the one found in the 15 Pro.
If these leaks prove true, Xiaomi’s 16 series will offer more choices, better cameras, and a design that blends flat screens with slimmer bezels.
