In a video posted by Honor’s CMO Jiang Hairong-Harrison, the external display of the Magic V Flip has been exposed. Surprisingly, it is quite big, and Honor is marketing it as the “largest in the industry.” The video shows multiple use cases of the external display. For example, in one situation, the lady books her taxi from the external display without even the need to open the internal display. The external display is properly designed to run basic apps, such as maps, food delivery services, and social media apps including video content.
The external display creates a dual-screen format, where one portion shows the time and any notifications. While the second portion is used to show the apps. This is in a vertical position, with a comfortable aspect ratio to explore these apps.
COMPARISON WITH OTHER PHONES IN THE MARKET
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is one of the most popular phones in this niche market. It has a cover display of 3.4 inches, and it seems to operate all basic apps as well. However, the Magic V Flip may stand out due to its aspect ratio and may provide more comfortable app usage. There is also another phone in the market that uses a vertical design for apps on outer display, the Find N3 Flip. However, this phone does not make use of the area under the camera, unlike the Magic V Flip which shows time and notifications.
