HONOR and BYD have officially joined forces to shape the next generation of smart mobility. The two tech powerhouses are teaming up to combine HONOR’s AI and connectivity expertise with BYD’s advanced electric vehicle technology, aiming to create seamless and intelligent driving experiences for users.
The partnership was signed in a ceremony attended by James Li, CEO of HONOR, and Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD Group. It marks a major milestone in the growing collaboration between the smartphone and automotive industries.
What Honor’s and BYD Partnership Means
This new deal strengthens the connection between phones and cars through deeper AI integration and cross-platform innovation. The cooperation will focus on three main areas:
- Core technology and features: Joint development of ecosystem integration, AI assistants, and high-precision Bluetooth car keys.
- Ecosystem and user experience:Connecting HONOR’s phone technology with BYD’s DiLink smart system to allow smoother interaction between devices and vehicles.
- Marketing and engagement:Joint product launches, user-focused campaigns, and shared branding efforts to promote upcoming innovations.

This is just the beginning
HONOR and BYD have been working together since 2023. Their journey started with smartphone-based NFC car keys that allow BYD drivers to unlock their vehicles with a simple tap.
- In 2024, they expanded this to include in-car fast charging for HONOR devices.
- In 2025, their collaboration took another leap forward — DENZA became the first brand to adopt the HONOR Car Connect platform. It paves the way for broader BYD integration and smoother phone-to-car connectivity.

Driving Into the AI Era
James Li, CEO of HONOR, said the goal is to create smarter, more human-centered mobility solutions powered by AI:
“At HONOR, we believe the true value of technology lies in how it enhances people’s lives. Our partnership with BYD is a step toward a smarter, more connected future. Together, we’re shaping new mobility experiences that make every journey more intelligent and seamless.”
The partnership goes beyond simple connectivity. Its major goal is to expand the AI-powered mobility. This includes digital keys, voice interaction, and ecosystem services, all working together in real time.

What The Future Has in Store for Both Companies
Their progress has been revealed at the 2025 HONOR Global Developers Conference and AI Device Ecosystem Conference on October 23. HONOR plans highlighted its AI Connect platform — a key piece of its human-centric, scenario-based AI ecosystem.
