Oneplus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro to Launch at Q4 2024

OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro

OnePlus is reportedly developing two new smartphones in the Ace 5 series: the OnePlus Ace 5 and OnePlus Ace 5 Pro. According to a leak from the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS), these devices are expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024. The Ace 5 is rumored to be equipped with the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Pro model is anticipated to feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.

Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Summit, set to kick off on October 24th, will unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Considering the Ace 5 Pro’s reliance on this new chipset, an October launch for the series seems unlikely. A release in November or December appears more feasible.

In terms of specifications, the standard Ace 5 model is rumored to sport a 6.78-inch curved-edge OLED display. It will also feature a micro-curvature design. The 8T LTPO panel is expected to deliver a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is also rumored to include an alert slider. For photography, the Ace 5 is anticipated to feature a 50-megapixel triple camera setup. It will likely run on OxygenOS 15, based on Android 15.

A previous report indicated that the OnePlus Ace 5 might feature a 6,000mAh dual-cell battery with 100W fast charging, although it will likely continue to lack wireless charging, similar to its predecessor. The device is also rumored to have a ceramic build, adding to its premium feel.

Ace 5 Rumored Specs

While specific details about the Ace 5 Pro remain scarce, it’s expected to share some features with the standard model, such as the battery capacity, charging capabilities, and display specifications. However, all of this information is based on leaks, so nothing is confirmed at this point. If the rumored launch timeframe holds, we can expect more concrete details about these devices shortly.

It is worth noting, that the OnePlus Ace series is traditionally a Chinese-only lineup. However, they eventually left China being rebadged to OnePlus R-series smartphones. That could be the case for these smartphones, which should appear as the OnePlus 13R and other possible variations.
